TMDs can cause a wide variety of symptoms:
Mandibular functional limitations and alterations, from a reduced opening of the mouth or deviated lateral opening to severe labyrinthitis with loss of balance.
Chewing pain: often referred in the area around the ear or as pain in the chewing muscles
Joint noises: clicks, snaps or crackling while opening and closing
TMDs affect the adjacent skeletal and joint structures: cervical pain, recurrent headaches, and in some cases lumbar problems derive (if evidenced by a correct diagnosis) from an unbalanced dental skeletal relationship.
The task of our professionals is precisely to prevent, correct and treat the DTMs and correct the dental skeletal condition that causes them.

Dental skeletal discrepancies may have a hereditary, traumatic, or genetic origin, but they often derive from and worsen through the child’s incorrect habits. Atypical (neonatal) swallowing by the child, lower lip interposition, and many others interfere during the developmental stage on the growth of skeletal structures and teeth.
Interceptive orthodontics “intercept” the child in these habits and corrects the alterations already present with mobile or fixed functional devices (taking advantage of oral and perioral muscle functions), thus restoring the conditions that will allow for proper development in the child. In most cases, this avoids long and complicated corrective interventions during adolescence.

Orthodontics by means of fixed devices allows to correct dental malocclusions and extrude teeth retained during growth. Except for very young patients, our office employs fully transparent dental braces made of a material not susceptible to plaque and unalterable in colour: saphire. A mixed-technique orthodontic treatment by one of the industry’s top specialists can safely control dental movements in the three space axes. In a variety of cases, this is achieved by applying a suitable and continuous force module without damaging the teeth in any way. The result is a beautiful smile, the absence of temporo-mandibular disorders (TMDs), the resolution of many spinal problems and a lower incidence of tooth decay (often a consequence of malocclusions). Where severe skeletal abnormalities are present, the treatment is associated with physiotherapy in order to maximize the rehabilitation outcome.

With a modern dental imaging and virtual design system, today it is possible to create dental braces that adhere to the lingual (posterior) surfaces of the teeth and therefore allow for completely invisible orthodontic treatment. Such treatment is recommended in patients whose profession is based on their image. Lingual orthodontics is not, however, suitable for every clinical case, and may in some cases, at the initial stage, create discomfort to the tongue (due to the inevitable internal size). However, at the end of the treatment, 100% of the patients are satisfied.

Align your smile in maximum comfort: yes you can!
For years now we have been using the Invisalign system to align front teeth and offer our patients a new smile.
These are sequential, thin, transparent guards worn 22 hour a day, capable of aligning the front teeth. Please note, this not Orthodontics: the posterior occlusal relationship is not altered in any way except for small movements of individual teeth, merely improving the front quadrant, primarily for aesthetic purposes. This is therefore not advised in patients with obvious malocclusions or TMDs.
Today, alongside the Invisalign system, we offer the Dental Wings system, which allows our laboratories to work actively in the 3D simulation to design with greater care in a direct relationship with our orthodontist. The absence of brand marketing and intercontinental shipments also allows us to lower significantly the cost to the patient. The results obtained with this system are exceptional.
